One of the things about having a blog on your website is keeping it updated. When things get busy customer care becomes a priority than sharing what you have done. I am working to get this caught up and adding some pictures.
2008 Blog Entries
August

We took the photos for the Bice engagement in the downtown area. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun with the ,
now we just can’t want until their wedding day to photograph that as well. What a wonderful couple!

The Davidson-Viecelli took place at Nativity Pines near
Andover. It unfortunately rained that
day moving the wedding indoor. It was a
smooth transition and the indoor location looked great. A special thanks goes out to the God Father who took care of the barbecue. Whatever the mystery meat was it was incredibly tender.

The Chaffin-Moss wedding also took place at Nativity Pines
in near Andover. We managed to not have
rain this day, and the sunflower theme looked great.
June 2008

We were once again selected to photograph The Pride awards. It was a very entertaining event with some great music and entertaining MCs. We covered the event and provided background photography as part of the fund raising.

Mt Carmel class of 1958 group reunion photograph. We were there for their videos and part of the reunion event. We learned a lot about the history of the school and what Wichita was like in the 50s.
Kelly wanted to do some intimate
photographs for her fiancé as gifts for his return home from Iraq.
Won’t he be surprised!
The Dalton-Owens wedding was one
of two weddings that we photographed on the same day. The couple looked so happy, but we bet they were very nervous
under those perfect smiles.
The Gilliand-Helms wedding was the
second wedding to be photographed that day. The candles lit behind the alter to spell LOVE were a perfect touch for
the ceremony.
If that wasn't’t enough the best man
showing his chest shaved with the first initials of the bride and groom
certainly made this day one to remember.
The
Rowe-Weaver wedding was defiantly one to remember. We have never seen a bride to organized with what photographs she
wanted taken and when. Then the
staircase at the reception made a grand entrance for the happy couple.
And the flower girls were so cute,
especially when one decided to clean the glass door with a baby wipe.

The Wichita Wingnuts have started their baseball season and
we were privileged to take their team photograph. It was a very bright day but the team looked wonderful in their
white uniforms.
To bad they won’t stay that white for much longer.
May
is a big month for weddings; we have several weddings this month. The Goscha-Libhart wedding was absolutely
beautiful. We bet the couple wished the night would never end. Congratulations to the happy couple.
Wow, what a wedding the
Boondarig-Sunita wedding was! This was the first Tai Buddhist wedding we have
been blessed to photograph. It was a
wonderful experience and very interesting to watch.
We photographed the East High 50th Class Reunion. It was good to see so
many friends see each other and celebrate their 50th Reunion. I hope their 60th class reunion
is just as enjoyable.
The Taylor-Miller wedding was a
lot of fun to photograph. The bride’s
children participating in the wedding was a wonderful touch to create the
family.
Also, who can forget the children
dancing the Chicken Dance, and the Hokey Pokey.
Our last wedding for the month was
for the Killgore-Collins wedding. It
was a rather hot day but that didn’t stop the wedding out at Botanica. We don’t think the couple could have picked
a more beautiful backdrop for their wedding, and wedding photographs.

All Saint Catholic Church has
their First Communion for these children today. What a joy for these children, we are sure they will remember it
for the rest of their lives. They all
looked so nice in their dresses and suits too.
Ami
was a wonderful senior to work with. We
enjoyed working with her and taking photographs around the grain elevator. Oh…and the motorcycle wasn’t bad either.
Kristi and Lew came in for an
engagement photo session this month as well. These turned out beautiful and we look forward to their upcoming
wedding.
The Hieger/Beard Wedding took
place in Andale, on a very windy day. But this didn’t delay the wedding, which occurred inside a very
beautiful church.

The Homewood/De’Mars wedding is
out first outside wedding of the year. It was chilly this day but that didn’t stop everyone from enjoying the
ceremony.
Special thanks for the Wichita
Marriott for allowing us to use their lounge area for the pictures that day.
For the Conrad/Vause wedding we
drove to McConnell Air Force Base. Heather never stopped smiling, just like in her bridal photography
session. It was a beautiful wedding and
we wish them all the best.
Dwila’s senior pictures were so
much fun. All those Elmo’s, we didn’t
know they made so many different types. Who said you can’t love stuffed animals when you older?
Michelle’s
baby boy was so easy to work with, mostly because he was asleep most of the
time. You have to admit he is
absolutely adorable; they are always so cute when they are asleep.
The Fowler family had their family
portrait taken with us. We don’t get
many large families in our studio, but we have fit more than this before. The kids were a joy to work with and we were
never short of laughs. It was really
nice to see this many come together for a portrait, it will look beautiful on
their wall.
January 08
We
enjoyed doing Heather’s Bridal photography session. She was a joy to work with and we had a lot of fun plus she
always seems to have a smile. We can’t
wait to photograph her wedding in March.
Working with the Salvation Army to
take pictures for the Biddy Basketball Tournament was a challenge to take
pictures of so many teams and it ran smoothly. It was a lot of fun to work with the kids and they all played great
games.
December 07
Delta Dental's Christmas party was at Terradyne this year. We shot and printed over 100 images and as always it was a hoot.
The pet shoots at Indian Hill's animal clinic we well. I didn't even get bite this year. Did get licked a few times which only adds to the fund of the event.
November 07
The Salvation Army picked us as the 2008 Biddy Basketball photographers. This will be an exciting event for us.
October 07
We started the month with a trip to Ireland. Click Here to see the unedited images of our Irish journey.

The Murphy/Robins wedding was a great gathering of friends and family. The Hilton did their usual great job of decorating and making sure that their portion of the wedding went well. Judge Dewey officiated and added his wit and wisdom to the wedding. They even missed the two tropical storms which were racing to the same honeymoon location as the new couple.
Are you one of the guests? Many of you had your own digital cameras. You are free to add your own pictures to the online gallery. Click on the picture above to view the wedding pictures and upload some of your own favorite shots.

Ally and her mom were quite the troopers. 100' weather in the middle of the afternoon and we did the entire senior photo shoot outside. If you are a friend of Ally's check out her MySpace page for more pictures. One thing I did learn today: Whoever said never let them see you sweat had never been a photographer in Kansas in August.
We are back from Memphis where we attended a Professional Photographers of America seminar. It was a great trip. We looked at new technologies and came back with some great ideas to improve our photography services.

Brandy's Wedding Brandy worked for me for quite a few years. One thing about a bride who has been to hundreds of weddings from beginning to end is that she knows how to plan a wedding. We took some extra camera equipment and another photographer so she could have some extra wedding memories. The church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton, and it looked great.
We be posting them online soon. For a quick look at their wedding slideshow click on the picture.

81 Speedway - Our track photographer had an opportunity to expand his career and decided to move to Houston. We wish Eric well as he pursues his life goals. He will be missed. If any of you know a photographer who loves racing please have them get in touch with us.
Favorite City Park Location - We used to love to shoot families and seniors at Riverside Park at the Giant's Footprint. Unfortunately, the city is not maintaining it and now it looks like a swamp! We have moved a couple blocks away and found another location which our customers like.
These kids were great to work with. I almost invited to baby sit them for the weekend just to have them to do some practice sessions on. There are some new lighting techniques that I am wanting to try out.
Oh yea, how is our pond remodel coming along? Slow... I am optimistic that for the fall seniors we will have the new dock built along with some other new looks. Volunteers are always welcome....
Hardner Wedding - The drive to Hillsboro was nice. We ate at a quaint restaurant called something like The Old Town Restaurant. It has a thumbs up. The people at the church had the definite small town personality. It was very relaxing.
I have not asked the couple if they want us to post them online for the guest. If so, we will post a link for you to view the wedding later.
TOP Nationals - 800 acts, 111 hours of dance competition in 6 days. The team rocked! The new software and server worked great and everything went well. It was not the largest competition we ever shot but it was by far one of the best for us this year. Thanks to all who helped make this our best competition week.
June 07
Tower of Power Church in Great Bend - The free carnival was a lot of fun. The barbecue was great and we really enjoyed the socializing with the church members and guests. Our new tent worked well. Nope, didn't think to get a picture of it. The event ran late so when it was over we were heading to another event. We will get one on the next event we use the tent.

Check out our cutest kid award.
TOP Nationals Des Moines - 900+ acts, 92 hours of dance competition in 5 days. The facility was great. The talent was fun to watch. A special thanks to our contract shooters from KC and Des Moines. They were a great asset to the team.
Kim's School of Dance - Thanks again for inviting us back. These kids are talented and have a lot of fun with dance. They even like to hamm it up in front of the camera during our slower times.
The crew that stayed for the actual performances really had a great time. The props, the talent, and the number of performances packed into one evening made it a high energy night.
Rudy's Model Shoot - Model portfolios are not a major part of our business. Even though we provide digital copies of the files this is not a market we have done well moving into. We really enjoy these shoots because they are different and they allow us to use some lighting we
would not normally get to use.
Alley Kat Dance Studio - For us, Bangor Michigan is quite a drive. About 12 hours. It was a fun trip for my main assistant who used the opportunity to go to Hell Michigan. It took a couple of weeks for the jokes to subside but it was worth it. Like always, the kids were a lot of fun. Alley Kat seems to have a lot of smaller kids than some of the other dance studios. It makes for a lot of very "cute" shots. We hope to be able to make the trip next year. It will probably depend on the cost of fuel and our availability.
